Designed for managing organic waste with worms , this system is easy to use and requires little attention beyond feeding the worms weekly or a couple of times a month. Over time, the waste transforms into organic fertilizer ready for use in any vegetable, fruit, or ornamental plant crop.

The compartments included in the PRO Worm Composter are made with 95% high-quality recycled plastic to guarantee their strength and durability over time.

The product includes a substrate for the worms to rest on at the beginning, and a guide to getting started with vermicomposting.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the composter smell bad? Can it really be kept inside the house?

No, worm composters don't smell bad and are designed for indoor use as well. The decomposition of plant waste by the worms is aerobic and very rapid, therefore other decomposers that we associate with bad smells are not present.

Only when we open the box will we notice a smell of a rainy day.

Are there worms in the kitchen?

These are earthworms—not worms. Like the ones in the soil beneath us. In nature, they create underground tunnels, oxygenating and nourishing plants, making them our allies. At home, they can't leave the compost bin; besides, they're shy and don't like the light.

When you pour out the waste, do earthworms appear on their own?

No, you should add a small starter colony of red wiggler or Californian worms when you first start using your composter. These worms will reproduce, and your only concern will be feeding them your vegetable scraps. You can request worms when you purchase a worm composter, which already includes a user guide.

This composter is for outdoor use, for people who have a large terrace.

The most practical place for a composter is the kitchen, due to the ease of adding vegetable scraps. A laundry room is another convenient option, or failing that, a patio or terrace.

OUR GOAL

The indirect results we seek with the manufacture of this product are:

  1. Reduction of the amount of organic waste generated at the domestic level, with the associated economic and environmental costs of its public management.
  2. Soil regeneration in orchards and other lands, through the use of compost generated by earthworms.
  3. Raising public awareness about the importance of soil microbiology.
