What mothers and teachers say about our team

  • Leonor García Castillo

With your guidance, we can move forward with the garden projects in the courtyard; otherwise, we focus on other things and end up putting it aside

  • Cristina Toro Regaño

The more people it reaches, the better. And if not, they should come to the school to see how the children eat the vegetables they have grown themselves. That is the secret

  • Marina Gálvez Guillén

It is a luxury to have the Urban Green Club team in the school garden. You do a great job

More than a vegetable garden. A complete educational project

At Urban Green Club, we call an "Aula Viva" (Living Classroom) more than just a raised bed with soil: it is an educational space designed for students to learn how to plan, collaborate, and make real decisions.

We integrate the garden into the school's daily routine through training workshops based on agroecology, adapted to each educational stage.

Salobreña Hospitality School - From the garden to the menu

The IES Mediterráneo Hospitality School in Salobreña wanted its students to understand the origin of what they cook. The challenge: to turn that goal into an educational project with infrastructure, a training program, and tangible results.

We designed and installed a complete culinary garden: raised beds, composting, a vermicompost bin, drip irrigation, and fruit trees. The students participated in every phase. Three months later, the garden's produce reached the table at their first Gastronomic Fair.

Espanta pajaros en huerto escolar del CEIP de Sierra Elvira - Urban Green Club

CEIP Sierra Elvira - The most active classroom in the school

CEIP Sierra Elvira had a large vacant plot of land and the desire to do something with it. The problem: the workload made it very difficult to reconcile daily teaching duties with coordinating the school garden.

We designed an annual plan with sessions twice a week. With the students' participation, we created a complete organic garden together: raised beds, composting, and our own seedbeds, closing the cycle within the school.

We know that budget is one of the first questions in any educational center. That is why we design every project with the available grant programs in mind.

Many of our projects have been fully or partially funded through regional and state grants linked to environmental education, sustainability, and climate change adaptation.

During your free consultation call, we will explain which options may apply to your specific case.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a school garden and what is its purpose?

What ages is a school garden suitable for?

A school garden is suitable for all educational stages: preschool, primary, secondary, high school, and vocational training. The educational program and infrastructure are adapted to the capabilities of each age group.

How much space is needed to set up a school garden?

No large outdoor space is needed. Urban Green Club works with paved patios, soil areas, rooftops, and even indoor spaces with natural light. There are projects that start at less than 10 m².

Who maintains the school garden after installation?

Urban Green Club handles ongoing maintenance and support. Regular workshops are held and the teaching staff is trained so that the project functions autonomously and does not create an extra burden for teachers.

How much does it cost to install a school garden in a school?

The cost varies depending on the project. There are regional, national, and European grants linked to environmental education and sustainability that can finance part or all of the investment. In many cases, the school's direct contribution has been close to zero.

How long does it take for a school garden to be ready?

The installation can be completed in a few days. The training program begins in parallel, and the students can start cultivating within the first few weeks.

In which provinces and autonomous communities does Urban Green Club operate?
