What do we need to keep in mind to properly maintain the garden?

• Pruning and staking

At certain times and seasons of the year, some of the vegetables we have will need pruning so that production is much higher and the plant focuses on new fruits.

Also, depending on the vegetable, we'll need staking. Some plants won't be able to support the weight of the fruit, like tomatoes, peppers, or eggplants.

• Remove weeds

Weeds are the well-known "weeds," and they aren't actually bad, as they contribute to the biodiversity of the garden. However, it is true that they absorb water and nutrients from the soil where we grow the other vegetables that are the ones we're really interested in.

We will help you identify which weeds are useful, and how to return the ones that are not to the soil through composting.

• Maintain adequate watering for each vegetable

One of the most important factors when having a vegetable garden is irrigation. Each plant has specific moisture requirements. We will install a drip irrigation system that measures the amount of water each vegetable needs, allowing us to make the most of it and reduce unnecessary consumption of this precious resource.

• Application of biopreparations and fertilizers for the prevention of diseases and pests

There's always a chance that dreaded pests, insects, diseases, or fungi will appear at some point. At Urban Green Club, we're committed to using bio-preparations and natural, organic fertilizers to help prevent or treat any of these problems that may already be present in your garden.

We must keep in mind that sometimes it is very difficult to fight against some of these problems when they are already very established, so we have to be patient and consistent.

• Prepare a crop rotation and association plan for the next season

Both crop rotations and intercropping are very important if we want to have a good yield from our orchard in the next harvest.

Planting vegetables together will help them develop better, as well as control pests and attract pollinators.

Some vegetables consume nutrients from the soil, while others provide them, so it is essential to plan a crop rotation.
