The Urban Green Club youth association was founded in 2019.

Since then we have been working to accelerate the ecological transition in cities
through the design, installation and management of urban gardens and systems
home composting . But our work doesn't end here.

While formal education increasingly advocates for

agroecology and youth empowerment. We conduct workshops on
Climate change, composting, vermicomposting, bokashi, biopreparations, and much more!

Objective: a citizenry more connected to their territory and with access to healthy food and leisure spaces

Help us transform cities

Why vegetable gardens ?

Urbanization and industrial development threaten the preservation of agricultural heritage, prioritizing large commercial areas, technology parks, and residential zones, and displacing cultivated areas ever further from population centers. Creating green spaces and using them for food cultivation is an ideal strategy for mitigating the effects of climate change, by reducing greenhouse gas emissions from transporting food from rural areas to cities and the energy used for its storage, while simultaneously sequestering carbon thanks to the biodiversity characteristic of these spaces.

Why agroecological ?

Industrial agriculture threatens food sovereignty and security, as well as the health of the planet. Monocultures have devastating consequences for biodiversity and ecosystems, severely hindering the ability of all living beings, including ourselves, to adapt to climate change. Agroecological production uses crop association and rotation techniques to biologically control pests and diseases that can reduce crop productivity and quality, while simultaneously respecting the environment by promoting biodiversity and preserving soil fertility.

Why urban ?

Cities have become extremely polluted and overcrowded places where inequality reigns. They are net consumers of energy and materials, incapable of producing anything. All these factors make cities unsustainable spaces.
Urban planning leaves vacant spaces that turn their backs on life, and it is our dream to reclaim them and put them at the service of the citizens.
